Right
DVD Player
for Your
TV
If you have a regular (non-digital and not HDTV) TV then you do
not need, nor will you benefit from, expensive DVD Player features
like progressive scan and component connections.
Your current TV should have audio/video jacks (composite) or an
s-video jack. So, for now, go for the best sale you can find on most
any inexpensive model of any brand. I paid less than $80 for mine
and it is serving me well. After I upgrade my TV next year when HDTV
"actually" is available in my city, I will buy the latest-greatest
DVD player available at that time. In the meantime, I am having a
great time viewing the best picture my TV can display and the CooL
"peep" controls almost aLL DVD players provide like:
(1) Very fast & very clear fast scan - forward & reverse;
(2) Go directly to a scene;
(3) ZOOM IN which IS worthwhile
SOMETIMES;
(4) A-B repeat of a scene YOU choose - The Voyeur's
favorite feature:
(5) Great CLEAR variable slow motion - also a
favorite feature;
(6) eXtras that are on most DVDs; and
(7)
THE BEST - you do N0T have to r~e~w~i~n~d DVDs.

Of course, my
favorite is my Digital
Video Recorder - I use it constantly. Easy to
use and program and recording to temporary or permanent DVDs is fast
& flawless. NO coasters and I have now recorded over 100
DVD-Rs. Easy to record from tapes, TV, or other DVDs that are
not copy protected. Models like mine with a hard drive are far
easier to use. New

you want to record directly from your camcorder, then Model Panasonic DMR-E100HS
is recommended with several " media readers" built-in. Sometimes
Wal-Mart
offers a lower price when they have it in stock but the bottom line cost has been consistently

SD4700 Progressive-Scan DVD-Video/DVD-Audio Player' is an
excellent value as is Toshiba
SD-3750.
For DVD storage I stayed away from open towers and chose a
storage album that would protect my new investment like 'Case
Logic DVA40 Koskin DVD Album (40-Capacity)'
